| Dear Principal Qiou, dear friend, 尊敬的仇校长，我最亲密的朋友： after having experienced two of the most fascinating, educating and entertaining weeks of my life, I cannot but express my sincere thanks to you. This exchange program and the ensuing field trip were a really remarkable experience for all of us. Ms Herdle, Mr Pitl, our students and myself were all but overwhelmed by your hospitality and kindness. 在经过了我一生中最为难忘的两周中国之行，我无法用语言表达我对你的最真诚的谢意。这次爱心之旅对我们德国师生来说是一次富有魅力，教育意义的神奇之旅。我们所到之处受到的热情款待让我们终生难忘。 Being able to see so much not only of your school and the city of Shanghai, but also of the more remote parts of your wonderful country has deeply impressed us. 我们不仅有幸参观了贵校，游览了国际大都市上海，更有此良机参加贵校赴井冈山的爱心之旅，使我们亲历体验了贵国的博大精深的文化以及中国人民的友好善良，这一切让我们感触颇深。 You took us to places we would never have been able to travel ourselves, showed us sights we wouldn’t have known they even existed and made us acquainted with many wonderful people we wouldn’t have met without you. 对于初次来中国文化交流的我们，这次中国之行是梦寐以求但又不敢奢望的。我们如此近距离接触中国文化，走进中国百姓家庭，结识当地老乡，感受民间传统习俗，这一切令我们倍感荣幸。在此我们深表谢意。 Most of all we were deeply touched by the overwhelming welcome we got from the poor students of your “Hope Project” school in Jiangxi. Wealth cannot be measured in money and goods alone – there is a wealth of heart that brightly shone from the eyes of those children. 我们尤其感到震撼的是在贵校资助的井冈山新城镇中心小学所受到的浓重礼遇。从那一双双充满热诚、感激的眼睛里我们看到了孩子们金子般的心。这种宝贵的财富是难以用钱或物来衡量的。 If more people in our community paid the same amount of attention to those in need, we would be much better equipped to meet our challenges and achieve high academic standards for all students. 假如我们社区有更多的人伸出援手帮助周围那些需要关怀的弱者，那么我们学校的教育将更加有辐射力，使我们的学生迎接挑战以取得更大的成绩。 Please express our deep gratitude also to the families that have undertaken the burdensome chore of hosting our students and us for the time we spent in Shanghai. These families have exercised a degree of heart-warming hospitality we have never met before. Without their efforts programmes like this wouldn’t be possible. 在此请转达我们对接待家庭最诚挚的谢意，他们的好客，善良让我们在异乡仿若荣归故里。没有他们的盛情款待，热情相助，我们的文化交流项目不会如此圆满。 Don’t let this be the beginning and ending of our relationship, though.
